The Lions Club of Williamstown

Would you like to know more about Williamstown?

Would you like to be more involved in its activities?

The Lions Club of Williamstown is a combined ladies and mens service organisation dedicated to improving Williamstown's
community facilities.

Our fortnightly evenings at the Royal Motor Yacht Club are informative, relaxing and fun.

Past Williamstown achievements include:

Establishment of a 48-unit village for the elderly (Lionsville), now part of Winteringham Homes.

Provision of a street-stall caravan for community use.

Assistance with the restoration of the Timeball Tower.

Assistance with the restoration of the historic Fort Gellibrand.

Providing a minibus for the local Salvation Army programs.

Providing beds and medical equipment for Williamstown hospital.

Our sister club the Lions Club of Settsu, Japan, provided over $17 000 for a large garden for staff, patients and their families at Williamstown Hospital, and we worked with them in its establishment.Assisted the local council with “Meals on Wheels”.

Currently we conduct “Sausage Sizzles” in Douglas Pde to raise funds for our projects.  This year they have included providing toys for the Hobsons Bay Toy Library, helping to send the Under 19 Lacrosse team to the world championships, organising a “Youth of the Year”quest for students in local schools, and providing mobility aids for those who may not otherwise have them.  We have assisted in building a school in East Timor, and contributed to aid for floods, bushfires and similar disasters through the Lions Foundation.

If you would like to know more about our club, or perhaps come along to one of our dinner meetings to meet our members, please contact Philippa on 9397 1914 or Joy on 9391 5657 (Home) or 93976198 (Business)
